Our Neighborhood this Summer
We spent our summer, May 2 through September 30, at McHugh Creek, a day-use recreation area and trailhead just south of Anchorage on the ocean of Turnagain Arm. We received free facilities and full hook-ups for the RV in exchange for our volunteer hosting and caretaking labors. It was a splendid arrangement, which we were quite content with all summer. Of course, there were strange glitches and a few interesting characters, but at the end of the day when we would shut the access gate, we felt like we had the entirety of Chugach State Park to ourselves. It’s a beautiful site, and excepting a few rainy days and some occasionally high winds, the weather was truly magnificent. Here is video and some photos of our locale.
