Unfortunately, bath time wasn’t quite as fun most of the time in the RV – a combination of small space, water conservation, and frustration (on my part) and fascination (on Tallis’ part) with the way the drain stopper was so easy to pull out! Most of Tallis’ “baths” this summer turned out to be showers with Mom or Dad, which he didn’t seem to mind at all, but admittedly reduced the play time element.
Once we moved into our new apartment in the fall, Tallis rediscovered bathtub play! And I, in comparing his post-summer baths with his pre-summer baths, recognized how much he had developed. Back in April he couldn’t pull himself up to standing yet:
He most definitely could not use a cup as it was intended (that’s fresh water from the sink, not bath water, by the way):
And he certainly didn’t know how to use a brush as anything but a teething toy or a hammer:
Skills aside, when you compare bath pictures across the span of just 5 or so months, you see a marked difference in feature development, teeth, baby fat, and even personality.
Of course, if we’re doing comparisons, we could bring out the photo of his first bath at home, in the experienced hands of Grandma Hess:
Some one’s growing up!
