This year Courtney’s birthday (34) fell on Nine-Nine-Oh-Nine. We had a small and casual gathering of friends at Bob and Arlene Cross Park in Anchorage, where we had sweets (cupcakes, hot fudge cake and ice cream) and played Ultimate Frisbee.



It being a Wednesday night, not everyone we invited could attend, but you just can’t celebrate Nine-Nine-Oh-Nine on Nine-Twelve-Oh-Nine, can you? Oh well. We enjoyed the company of those who could make it! The Janjuas, Altmans, Davises (representatives of both the Dave Davis and Tom Davis families) and Dale Butikofer made it to the celebration. We realized how old we are when we played only a few minutes of Ultimate Frisbee before pooping out. The kids would’ve played all night, though!



We tried to get everyone to stay until Nine-Oh-Nine-and-Nine-Seconds (9:09:09 on 09/09/09 – apropos, eh?), but for some reason they thought that would be a little late for a cool evening with little kids! :) So, after the “crowd” dispersed we spent some playground time with Tallis. This park was Tallis’ first playground, but we didn’t have the camera with us then, sadly. He does great on the climbing wall, the slide, and especially the swings.



I was remiss in not taking more photos, especially of our party friends, but we had an enjoyable and refreshing evening. Thanks for celebrating with us, everyone! Love you, Courtney!
