Our Alaska Zoo

We finally made it to the Alaska Zoo in the middle of August, after our failed attempt for Tallis’ birthday. It was not only Tallis’ first time to our local zoo, but mine, too! We had such an enjoyable time that I found myself wishing we’d bought the annual pass. (Haven’t done that yet, but it may be on future budget agendas.)

All the animals were great to see. One of the great features of the zoo is how all the animals are native to northern climates and how most of them are there because of some reason they can’t live in the wild. The highlights included the wolves (regal!), the wolverine (unwearyingly wired), the musk oxen (stately and adorable at the same time), the bears (behind the fence, please), the foxes (cute!), the deer, and many others. We caught a few highlights camera.

And of course, the harbor seals, in both still shots and video:

We will be back, Alaska Zoo! We hope to have many years of animal adventures there!
